I’m Michelle, the designer behind Chic Little Haven. I have a passion for redesigning old unloved/unwanted vintage furniture. My interest in furniture design began in 2010 and it has grown into a thriving business.
Im based in Boston Spa, Wetherby and run my services from my home based workshop.
I specialise in giving old, unloved, unwanted furniture a new look through restoration and refinishing. Furniture makeovers give pieces a new lease of life and save from landfill. With over 12 years experience working in the trade I offer a personal unique design service. I work with you to decide on new colours, design and new hardware that will fit with your existing decor or your new decoration plans. I can also take on your existing furniture and give it a makeover to fit in with your decor this includes your kitchen cabinets too.
My work is mainly commision work, people commission me to paint/restore their furmiture!
Upcycling, and refinishing old furniture gives a totally new, unique piece, that can give a high-end look, that would normally cost a lot more if bought new. Not forgetting that these days, most new furniture is mass-produced and not made with the quality and love of old, handmade pieces.
I can professionally spray, however most of our work is hand painted as I can acheive a flat flawless finish with my perfected techique. We work with only quality premium paints and products that have been tried and tested over the years.
After many years of running creative workshops in furniture painting, resin pour, lampshade making and decoupage. I have now stopped to holding group workshops.
From March 2026 I will be offering personal 1-1 Furniture Painting Workshops to teach my technique.
I will also soon be launching digital products to help you get through your home projects.
